The Buxted Community Hall Trust was set up in 2011 with the purpose of providing and maintaining a community hall within the village of Buxted. The Trustees are all local to the village of Buxted and come from all walks of life.
An architect was employed to prepare, in conjunction with BPC, outline drawings of the proposed village hall. These, together with a model of the hall, were displayed at several public meetings and also used to support the application for the granting of planning permission.

It has been agreed that the Trust will lease the land from the Ionides Trust at a peppercorn rent.

To fundraise for, to build and to operate a community hall on land held in Trust by the Trustees of the Basil Ionides Memorial Centre at Framfield Road, Buxted, East Sussex,for the use of the inhabitants of the parish of Buxted and its vicinity, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions in accordance with the objects of the Trust’s charitable company’s registration.
